LCC Annual Events
Lung Cancer Connection is committed to promoting education and awareness about lung cancer issues in St. Louis, Missouri, and throughout the world.
In 2009, LCC hosted our first an annual walk/run fundraiser during the month of November, in recognition of Lung Cancer Awareness Month. This event quickly became St. Louis's largest and most successful effort to build awareness of this terrible disease and to show love and support for patients. More than 600 people registered for the 2013 Walk, which was held on November 2nd at Forest Park.
LCC will not host a walk/run event in November 2014. Our next walk/run will take place in April 2015. We hope to see you there!
LCC's 6th Annual Walk/Run will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at the Chesterfield Amphitheater, 631 Veteran's Place Drive, Chesterfield, MO. This new venue will give us the space and amenities we need to expand in the coming years. Please mark that date on your calendar and spread the word. More information will follow later this year.
Lung Cancer Information Seminar
Although lung cancer is America's number one cancer killer, with over 1,500 new cases diagnosed in the greater St. Louis area each year, very little information about treatment and emotional support is available to patients and their families.
In an effort to fill the void of information and assistance, each year Lung Cancer Connection holds a free seminar that's open to lung cancer survivors, as well as medical professionals and the general public. The event, which features renowned lung cancer experts, is always a great opportunity for lung cancer patients to gain valuable insight into their medical issues, and network with others who face similar challenges.
